Part of the European Union commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve overall energy consumption, it has passed in Portugal the Energy Certification for Properties, this is just a simple check on each property overall rate of energy consumption and efficiency.

Energy Certificate Classification

The Energy Certificate is rated from A to G, its very similar to the one used on appliances, were the closest to green A the better and more efficient is the appliance, the same relates with the efficiency of the property, so a property with a rate as near or as A is much more efficient than one rated F.

The end of goal of the certification is both to inform the consumer at the time of purchase but also as a form of informing that there are improvements to be made to raise the efficiency of the property and thats a benefit for both everyone involved.
